"Seek the wisdom of the ages, but look at the world through the eyes of a child." Ron Wild
We should learn to see life through the bright eyes of a child. Kids have a way of turning even the smallest of events into an adventure. Today, I stepped back and watched my son in action. Tasks that I consider mundane . . . to him they’re the most awesome assignments in the world.
I gripe about washing the dishes after dinner, but Chandler loves to bring me the dishes, throw them into the sink, and then stand beside me as I wash them. The “bubbles” excite him and he can’t help but sneak his hands into the sudsy water each time I turn my back for even a second! He’ll gather up a handful of bubbles and blow them up into the air. Not only is the air filled with bubbles at this point, but with his cute laugh that instantly brings a smile to my face every time I hear it.
It is my conscious decision to not complain about a single task this week. I know, this sounds like a huge challenge, but I’m up for it. I’m going to think a little more like Chandler this week and take a little more time to smile, laugh, and just enjoy the simple things in life.
